Our Staff

To ensure that the care of the people that we support is in excellent hands, we choose the people that we employ by following a vigorous recruitment procedure.  Every person who applies to us for a position must give us:

  • proof of their identity
  • the names of two referees, one of whom must be their most recent employer
  • qualifications attained that relate to care work
  • be Disclosure and Barring Service (D.B.S) checked

All prospective employees are interviewed. Once the above has been satisfied and we are confident that the person has the correct attitude and personality, if we consider them to be suitable, they will be offered a position.  New employees will undergo a comprehensive induction programme which includes training in:

  •  Health and Safety
  •  Food Hygiene
  •  Moving and Handling
  •  First Aid

New employees will work alongside (shadow) a more experienced worker who will introduce them to the people that they will be supporting and to that person’s requirements (care package).  All staff will be expected to participate in regular training and refresher courses and obtain, at the very least, their Care Certificate.
